Bryan Huseman is a 1981 graduate of Nazareth High School. While at Nazareth he participated in football, basketball, and track. He helped lead one of the first Nazareth boys teams to the state tournament in Austin. Huseman left Nazareth and went to Lubbock Christian University to play football. He graduated from LCU in the spring of 1985 and began his coaching career.

Coach Eddie Hooper gave Coach Huseman his first coaching job in Memphis in the Fall of 1985. He spent two years at Memphis, then he followed Coach Hooper to Idalou where Coach Huseman became the Head Girls Basketball coach in the fall of 1987. Huseman’s Idalou teams made the regional tournament during the 1988-89 and 1989-90 seasons.

Following a one year stay at Snyder, Coach Huseman was hired by Lewis Boomer in Littlefield to be the Head Boys Basketball coach. He led the Littlefield boys basketball team for 10 years while compiling a 192-106 record, with an overall basketball coaching record of 320-158. The highlight of his time as the Head Boys Basketball coach in Littlefield was during the 1993-94 season when he guided the Wildcats to a 33-5 record and a berth in the Class 3A State Championship game where they lost to Ferris.

In the spring of 2001, Coach Huseman was hired by Jerry Blakely (legendary Texas HS coach) to be the head football coach of the Littlefield Wildcats. In 16 seasons, Huseman took the Wildcats to the playoffs 14 times, won 6 District Championships, 11 Bi-District Championships, 3 Regional Championships, 2 State Quarterfinal Championships, and 1 State Semifinal Championship. Coach Huseman’s 2006 team advanced all the way to the Class 2A Division I State Championship game where they fell to Tatum. The 2010 team won four playoff games before losing to Daingerfield 18-9 in the Class 2A Division I State Semifinals. Coach Bryan Huseman retired in the Spring of 2017 after guiding the Wildcats for 16 seasons. He retired as the winningest Coach in Littlefield’s storied tradition with a record of 132-61.

Bryan has been married to his wife, Mary Jo for 37 years. They have 3 children, Colby Huseman married to Brittany, with two daughters Britlynn and Blakey, a daughter Whitney Bryan married to Seth Bryan, with three sons Reece, Weston, and Case, and son Tracy Huseman. After 3 years of part time coaching at Lubbock Cooper Girls Basketball, Bryan and Mary Jo now live in Nazareth Texas.

Bryan believed in teaching athletes to be mentally and physically tough on and off the field. He also instilled that the desire to win and doing what’s right is what makes great character in athletes and in life. Coach Huseman taught his kids more than just athletics.
